a public garden……

at a mall. A new outdoor mall in Fairview has some pretty cutting-edge things going on.  Not the least of which is a public garden.  The garden is subdivided into raised plots, and you can reserve one and tend to it year-round.  I am assuming that most of the plots are used by tenants of the apartments that are located around and above the stores. Gardening tools are provided at the site.  Composting is available.  Scarecrows are optional.  How much does this contrast with the consumption -based mega malls of our childhood?  This is a great idea.
